Eco Island
A downloadable game for Windows
An Unreal Engine game where you play as a survivor needing to survive by eating, but making sure they don't eat too much where they kill the island in the process
This is a Unity Game made by a small team that consisted of 2 Game Designers, 3 Programmers and 2 Artists. The premise of the game is to survive by eating food that the island generates but also making sure the island doesn't die in the process. This is because the aim of the module we were working on required us to follow the code of The Tragedy Of The Commons*. My role was to be the designer that upheld our vision for the game and look after each person. I had created a Discord Server for us to make sure we stayed organised and efficient as well as communicate when needed. I also oversaw the source control (we decided to use SourceTree) and made sure it went as smooth as possible. I worked with the other designer to make sure that we had updated our Game Design Document alongside our Trello board so we were as organised as possible. Due to a falling out however, our original idea for the game was not able to come to fruition.
Theme: Tragedy of the Commons
The definition of the Tragedy of the Commons is an economic and environmental science problem where individuals have access to a shared resource and act in their own interest, at the expense of other individuals. This can result in overconsumption, underinvestment, and depletion of resources.
This is a University Project, it is unlikely to be worked on again
